Our Story

We Are The Johnsons

Chris and I are the owners of Reclaimed Karma, a boutique design + build firm based out of Marietta, Georgia. We pride ourselves on being a husband and wife team that specializes in kitchen and bath renovations, light commercial renovations, custom woodworking, interior design and residential/commercial project management.

Our story began back in 2014 when we bought our first family home.  To Chris, it was his “Dream Home”.  To me…uhmm not so much.  The house was sold to us by an investment company and was far from the beautiful flips you see on tv!  With close to 3,000 square feet of updates to do and furniture to purchase, we had to figure out how to make this house our home without breaking the bank!  We ended up hiring a “contractor” to help us with our renovations, who in return left us high and dry with our house tore up from the floor up LITERALLY!   We didn’t know it then, but hiring that contractor was one of the best decisions we could have ever made.  In order to rebuild our home, Chris taught himself (with the support of amazing mentors) how to build cabinets, furniture, and other custom woodworking along with sharpening his all around carpentry and contracting skills.  While I was able to put my love for interior design to work.  From there, Reclaimed Karma was born! What started off with us simply building and restoring furniture for customers quickly expanded into kitchen, bath and full home and commercial renovations.  The love for making our house a home developed into a true passion to help others do the same within their space.

A few years back, we were given a huge opportunity to film a nationwide TV show with the DIY Network called “Reclaimed Reno”.  Since then, we have also had the opportunity to partner with companies such as Habitat for Humanity, Home Depot, Varathane, Extra Space Storage and Weaber Lumber just to name a few.

When we aren’t in the field creating and renovating, you can catch us across social media DIYing in our workshop and documenting our lives every step of the way.

Chris and I are firm believers in good karma and we knew it had to be included in our name.  We always strive to do right by people because we believe what goes around comes around. We are so thankful to be able to love what we do and do what we love together.
